Arraignment

ARRAIGNMENT

At your arraignment, expect to wait around in a crowded court until your name is called.

The DA or ADA might call you up to ask you to plead guilty and pay the fine. Be a biker! Don’t be a wimp. Fight that ticket in court. Insist on your right to a trial. You’ll probably be told to go sit down until you are called.

Expect to be called up to the front of the court. The court will read the charges. At that time, you will be asked, “How do you plea?”

Respond “NOT GUILTY!”

You will be told when to show up for your trial. Usually, this is a different date. Be sure you know exactly when, and exactly where to go, before you leave the courtroom.

Before your trial, you should do some PRE-TRIAL PREPARATION.
