ROADSIDE STOPS can be a very intimidating situation.
We have two important suggestions:
ALWAYS REFER TO WHATEVER HEADGEAR YOU ARE WEARING AS YOUR HELMET.
FOLLOW SUGGESTIONS AT FLEX YOUR RIGHTS, such as how to say no to searches, and how to keep your mouth shut before you say something you’ll later regret. Be sure to take the quiz!
Hopefully, you will follow the suggestions and survive the police encounter!
The law enforcement officer (LEO) might issue you a ticket. Do not just send them money. Fight that ticket!
As soon as possible, you should write down all the facts regarding the roadside stop and the helmet ticket. Please Register at Biker Court right away so we can try to get you some help.
Once you have been issued a ticket, it will include what district court you need to show up at, and when. DO NOT BE LATE! Show up at the arraignment and say two little words,
“NOT GUILTY!”
In some instances, the court might try you on the spot, so you should do some PREPARATION before going to the arraignment.
